Summer Pre-Season Training Program

The NoRiSC Strength & Conditioning Program is the premier choice for a quality strength and conditioning program for young athletes in the Northern RI area.  Athletic Performance on the field is the goal of any athlete and we recognize this.  With this program, athletes are given the tools to build a solid foundation of strength & conditioning which will translate into on field accomplishments.   

The main focus of this program is FUNCTIONAL STRENGTH TRAINING to INCREASE and MAXIMIZE STRENGTH and PREVENT INJURY while PREPARING the athlete for the CONDITIONING demands of pre-season!


  • Technically sound conventional weight training emphasizing technique over weight lifted
  • Olympic Lifts including Olympic Weightlifting Technical Instruction
  • Stability and Structural Balance training to decrease the risk of injury
  • Body Armor Building Core Work
  • Speed and agility training
  • Metabolic Conditioning

Movement Assessment: Every athlete is brought through a movement assessment to identify weaknesses and imbalances which could be limiting performance and predisposing him/her for overuse injuries and problems further along in his/her career .

Strength First Programming: Each athlete will work through a customized program that will work towards building a solid foundation of movement quality and strength.  Proper technique will be stressed, which will enable any weak areas from bottom to top to be strengthened, reducing the risk of injury, and improving performance at sport and life.

Health and Wellness Guidance: Proper sleep and nutrition is critical for young athletes to perform at their best on and off the field and to set the tone for a lifetime of success. Nutritional guidance will be given to all athletes at the start of the program.  This includes guidance on sleep quality, diet, and supplementation.

Group Atmosphere: Our program fosters a supportive and motivating group atmosphere.  

Knowledge & Experience: Our Program Director has 20+ years in the strength and conditioning field and has worked with High School athletes for over 10 years.  He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (C.S.C.S) through the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA), which is regarded as the gold standard for strength training professionals, and is one of the most credentialed S&C coaches in RI.  All coaches involved with the High School S&C program are required and motivated to understand the unique issues facing young athletes today and the proper methods to address these issues.
