I started doing CrossFit one year ago to take back my health and former athletic lifestyle. In high school I was a 4-year varsity and 2-year all-state wrestler. I lifted consistently after high school, coached wrestling at Lincoln High school and played rugby at RIC. My sophomore year I decided to leave school and start my first business, a talent management and promotion company for aspiring hip-hop artists and models (yes, it’s true). That business didn’t work out so in 2010 I started what is now Wyllie Entertainment – a mobile DJ company specializing in weddings and pub trivia. Around that same time, I stopped lifting and started rock climbing and hiking 5 days a week. A few years later my wife and I had our first child and I stopped exercising all together. Over the course of a few years became the most out of shape I had ever been. However, last year I decided to take back my health, start eating clean and tried CrossFit. I was instantly hooked and knew this would become my a big part of my new lifestyle. Flash forward to today and I’m in the best shape of my life! I CrossFit 4-5 days a week, run roughly 20 miles a week and have even become a competitive Spartan Race athlete. I love to coach because I’m passionate about living an active, healthy and mindful lifestyle and want to help others do the same.
